Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pelican Alpha website, research products, data tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Ricardo Lee, doing business as Pelican Alpha ("Pelican Alpha," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable law and your employer or firm policies. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep that information current.

Pelican Alpha provides financial research content, investment signal workflows, and AI-assisted analysis tools. Some features may be released in beta form, may change, and may be discontinued at any time.

Pelican Alpha is not providing investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Content and tools provided by the Service are for informational purposes only and are not recommendations or solicitations to buy, sell, or hold any security. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities under your account. You may not share account access with other persons or organizations. You must promptly notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.

Paid features are billed through Stripe. By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges for the selected billing cycle until you cancel. Pricing, included features, and trial eligibility are shown at checkout and may change prospectively.

If a free trial is offered, the trial length and conversion terms shown at checkout control. Unless cancelled before trial end, your subscription will convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through the billing portal when available. Cancellations generally apply at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise required by law. Except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable.

Subject to these Terms, Pelican Alpha grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your internal lawful use.

You may not:

• Scrape, systematically extract, or harvest data from the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code or models.
• Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or publicly republish Service content without written permission.
• Use the Service to violate law, infringe rights, or transmit malicious code.
• Attempt to circumvent authentication, access controls, or subscription restrictions.

The Service, including software, text, data presentations, trademarks, and branding, is owned by Pelican Alpha or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you.

If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant Pelican Alpha a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any lawful purpose without compensation to you.

Parts of the Service rely on third-party providers (for example, hosting, authentication, payments, email, analytics, cloud storage, and model providers). We are not responsible for third-party acts or omissions outside our control.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pelican Alpha disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pelican Alpha is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill arising out of or related to the Service.

To the extent liability cannot be disclaimed, Pelican Alpha's aggregate liability for claims arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid Pelican Alpha for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pelican Alpha and its affiliates, officers, personnel, and agents from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created security risk, or used the Service unlawfully.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
